How the math works
- Active patients: the count of patients who've been seen in the last 24 months. Use your PMS's reported number; Open Dental + Dentrix expose it on the dashboard.
- Industry baseline recall completion: 50-60% of active patients show up for their 6-month cleaning on time. The other 40-50% drift — most never come back without an outreach.
- Cadence customer median: 80%+ recall completion after running Luna (auto-recall reminders) + the dormant-patient reactivation cadence at month 18.
- Recoverable formula:
active_patients × (target − current) × 2 visits/yr × avg_cleaning. Each recaptured patient is worth two visits per year (cleaning cadence) × cleaning value. Doesn't count downstream treatment revenue from the recovered visits.
